Acral lick dermatitis, also known as lick granuloma, is a skin disease triggered by your dog’s excessive licking or chewing of his skin. What will acral lick dermatitis look like in my dog?
Your dog will have a hard, thick, raised lesion on his skin. There will be hair loss associated with the lesion due to your dog's constant licking, chewing or even scratching at the impacted area. Acral lick dermatitis often appears on a dog's front leg, but it may occur on practically any part of your dog's skin that he is able to lick or chew excessively.
