Weimaraners were developed in Germany to hunt big game such as deer and wolves. Males stand 25 to 27 inches at the shoulder. Females stand 23 to 25 inches at the shoulder. Their close, sleek coats are grey-colored. Weimaraners are loyal yet stubborn dogs. They are affectionate with their families, and they usually make good watchdogs. Many Weimaraners cannot be trusted around small dogs or other animals. To learn how to rescue a Weimaraner in need of a home or for breeder referrals from The Weimaraner Club of America click here.
