Miniature Poodles derive from Standard Poodles who were developed in Germany to be water retrievers. It is thought that the French, who were greatly enamored of the Poodle breed, developed the Miniature Poodle as well as the Toy Poodle. Miniature Poodles must stand greater than 10 inches yet no more than 15 inches at the shoulder. As with Standard Poodles and Toy Poodles, Miniature Poodles’ curly and harsh coats come in a variety of solid colors. Poodles are extremely intelligent, playful, and extroverted dogs. Many Poodles also make good watchdogs. To learn how to rescue a Poodle in need of a home or for breeder referrals from the Poodle Club of America click here. Potential Health Problems*
