Labrador Retriever

Labrador Retrievers actually originated in Newfoundland and not Labrador. They were then brought back to England where they gained even more popularity assisting hunters in retrieving game from water and land. Male Labradors stand 22.5 to 24.5 inches at the shoulder, and females stand 21.5 inches to 23.5 inches at the shoulder. Their coats come in black, chocolate, or yellow. Regardless of color type, all Labs should share the typical winning Lab personality. These hardy dogs are sweet, spirited, intelligent, biddable and affectionate.
