Collie

Collies were originally developed as herding dogs. Males stand 24 to 26 inches at the shoulder, and they should weigh 60 to 75 pounds. Females stand 22 to 24 inches at the shoulder, and they should weigh 50 to 65 pound. Collies can be either rough-coated or smooth-coated, and may be a variety of color combinations: blue merle, sable and white, white or tri-color (black, tan and white). Collies are sweet, intelligent, and very loyal dogs. They are energetic and need a good amount of exercise to keep them happy and healthy.
