Bulldog

Bulldogs were developed in England where they were used for the “sports” of bull baiting and dog fighting. Bulldogs are stocky dogs with short, smooth coats. Male Bulldogs should weigh approximately 50 pounds, and female Bulldogs should weigh approximately 40 pounds. Their coats come in brindle, white, red, fawn, fallow, and piebald. Modern-day Bulldogs are generally loving and affectionate dogs. However, some Bulldogs can be a bit stubborn and hard-headed. Bulldogs do not require a tremendous amount of exercise, and are thus well-suited for city life. Bulldogs cannot tolerate either cold weather or hot temperatures well at all, and bulldog owners must be very sensitive to this. Bulldogs also drool, snort, and snore.
