Border Terrier

Border Terriers originated in the border area between England and Scotland. Males should weigh 13 to 15.5 pounds, and females should weigh 11.5 to 14 pounds. Their coats come in blue and tan, grizzle and tan, red, and wheaten. Most Border Terriers also have a dark muzzle. These dogs are affectionate, lively, and are generally good with all people. Border Terriers, as they were originally bred to hunt fox and vermin, should generally not share a household with small pets such as rabbits, gerbils, or guinea pigs. Border Terriers also have a tendency to dig and wiggle into tight spaces.
