Basset Hound

Basset Hounds were developed in France to hunt small game. Males and females should stand 14 inches or below at the shoulder. Their coats can come in all colors. Bassets are mellow, gentle dogs but they can be extremely stubborn. They adjust well to both city life and country life, and are generally good with people and other dogs. Bassets are often fond of baying, and they also have a tendency to become overweight.
