Ask The Vet: Chihuahua Not Eating

Q:  I have a Chihuahua who is 8 years old. He is not eating, but he is drinking normally. His tail is tucked under him and he is shaking. Should I take him to the vet?

A:  I would take your dog to your vet. It sounds like he may be in pain. It is important to find out what the problem is especially because he is not eating. Tiny dogs such as Chihuahuas can weak very quickly if they do not get nutrition.
