Ask The VetAsk The Vet: Coughing Boxer Puppy |
|
Q: We have a female Boxer named Irish. She is 6 months old. She has been coughing all day, but she is not producing anything with the cough. She seems to be a bit droopier than usual. Should we take her to the vet or wait it out for a day or two? A: To be on the safe side I would have Irish checked out. She is not her peppy self, and young dogs are more prone to pneumonia so it would be a good idea to be examined. If this is a “kennel cough” issue than the vet may dispense out some antibiotics and a cough suppressant.
